Dr. Quiterio is a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She trained in general psychiatry at Harvard South Shore and child and adolescent psychiatry at Stanford Medicine. During her training, she was selected to be a Public Psychiatry Fellow for the American Psychiatric Association and also served on the Disaster and Trauma Committee and Work Group for Quality Issues for the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Dr. Quiterio
served as the Clinical Medical Director and Director of Research at the Bay Area Clinical Associates in California. She also practiced in New Zealand in both the public and private sectors. She completed a two-year psychoanalytic psychotherapy training program at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis and also studied intensive child analytic training with the Institute of Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in Sydney, Australia.
Dr. Quiterio primarily utilizes Play Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy, but she is also trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Dr. Quiterio has a particular interest in working with soon-to-be parents, as well as children and adolescents affected by ADHD,
trauma, depression and anxiety, among other psychiatric diagnoses.
